The start of November gave me key feedback on my Future Annotated Bibliography in which I received an overall grade of 2.2. I was not disappointed with my grade but knew in myself that I could achieve better which made me analyse the comments and understand how I could achieve an improved grade. It was stated that my work overall was of a good standard however some errors were the cause of my grade being lower. Things such as ensuring my Harvard referencing is of a high standard and ensuring my conclusion is assimilating all my data and evidence not from a 1st person perspective are criticisms I will ensure to follow in future assignments. In order to improve my referencing, I will refer to the Nottingham Trent University referencing guide and use that as a baseline for my lists. Another productive criticism I gain from my Bibliography was to ensure that my consumer was the key focus of my work in Stage 1 and emphasised their relevance toward the macro trend. In previous years I found that achieving a low grade caused a decline in my overall passion towards the subject and made me feel as though I was only as good as that result. However, I am trying to look at the positive side of feedback and take my strengths and use them to help build upon my weaknesses.
November also was the start of developing my Research Project and emphasised to me the importance of time management and critical evaluation. To start I was tasked with the job of creating my research proposal in order to form the base of my overall project which I knew was a vital part of my work. A Seminar in Research in Action was a valuable asset to me within my investigative studies as it allowed for me to ensure I was emphasising the right pieces of information into my work and maintaining relevance throughout. Composing a Literature Review proved to me a challenging and demanding task which took on more of my time than I had originally planned. I was able to adapt and revaluate my timings in order to ensure I was being as self-sufficient as possible. In order to ensure my literature review was of a high standard I needed to check the credibility of my sources and make sure it was a reliable foundation for my research project. I found the task of creating my review to be stimulating due to having to reflect on authors viewpoints and summarize them. A lecture held by Dr Naomi Braithwaite was very though-provoking for me on the subject of Ethnography, permitting me to reassess my literature and research and analyse my findings so far. The notion of Qualitative data was also discussed in November which enabled me to start developing my consumer insight and in which ways I could obtain data from Gen Z and Gen X consumers. Overall, the lectures and seminars held in November greatly impacted the planning of my research and even enabled me to cut insignificant portions of my work saving me time and stress.
